In honor of her 20th birthday, “New 2 Tats”, is featuring the darling Selena Gomez. In the past few years, she has grown from being a cute-as-a-button Disney star to a stunning young woman. She has crafted a musical career with fun, fizzy songs like “Naturally”, and “Hit the Lights” and she is expanding her acting career to star in next summer’s anticipated dark comedy “Spring Breakers”.
Selena is one of those rare child stars who has, so far, made the transition into adulthood without the brutal growing pains of some of her contemporaries (like Demi Lovato and Britney Spears) or many who have come before her (like every child star from the 70’s and 80’s). Some may cite her paparazzi-fueled relationship with “The Beiber” as an example of her starting to act out. However, the negative attention is reserved a lot more for her boyfriend and his actions. She seems to be the solid one.
As with any young person these days, it should come as no surprise that Selena would end up getting a tattoo herself. Of course, in keeping with her level-headed demeanor, she didn’t an impulsive heart to show off her relationship or get some Kanji symbol that she thinks means one thing, but actually means something completely different.
No. Selena’s first tattoo is a musical note that she got on her right wrist back in February. She was named after the slain Tejano music star, Selena (Quintanilla), and music has been the overriding passion in her life and her family’s. It’s hard to think of a more fitting design for Ms. Gomez. Here are some photos of it below. The first is showing her at the tattoo studio after it was done. The other two are pictures of her in her daily life that show it of (including from the set of “Spring Breakers”).
Selena has been seen, in other pictures, with a variety of temporary tattoos. There have also been rumors of one or two new ones she has gotten recently. However, the musical note is the only confirmed one.
