If you don’t know who Malin Akerman is by this point, you must be living under a rock. If you’re living under a rock, I don’t know that the I can do anything to help you, other than to show you she has some great tattoos.
To those of us who aren’t living under a rock, Malin first hit our radars in 2004 when she had a memorable cameo in “Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle” as the extremely attractive Liane, who was incomprehensibly married to Freakshow, the boil-faced abomination who helps our ‘heroes’ get their car running again.
The Swedish-born Akerman (who fulfills all the stereotypes of beautiful, blonde Swedish women), has shown a gift for physical humor in films like “Harold and Kumar”, as well as the Ben Stiller comedy “The Heartbreak Kid”. She has also shown adeptness in the romantic arena in films like “The Proposal” and “27 Dresses” (where she out-shined the movie’s lead, Katherine Heigl). She has also shown a profound level of comfort with her body by not batting an eye at performing numerous nude scenes in films like “Harold and Kumar…”, “The Heartbreak Kid” and “Watchmen”. Malin has said that, where she grew up, nudity was not a big deal and, as long as it’s not gratuitous, she has no problem with it in films.
Akerman has certainly enjoyed a multifaceted entertainment career. It should come as no surprise that she began modeling in her pre-teens in a series of print ads and, in her teens, was signed by the prestigious Ford Modeling Agency. She later met her husband, Roberto Zincone, while as the lead singer for the band The Petalstones, for which Zincone was the drummer.
Malin is also someone who is a huge fan of body art, and quite proud of the tattoos she has. Malin was even the cover girl for the March 2009 edition of “Inked Magazine”. As of the publishing of that issue, Malin admitted to having two tattoos.
The first one is a larger lotus flower that appears on the upper part of her back. It pays tribute to her Buddhist background and upbringing.
Malin’s other tattoo is the artfully designed letter ‘Z’ on her right wrist. It is for her husband’s last name, Zincone (and, after recently becoming a mother, it can be for her newborn son, Sebastian Zincone).
