Celebrity Tattoo of the Day (Waverly Wizard Edition): Jennifer Stone

JenStone_Pic07The “Wizards of Waverly Place” is already known as the Disney show that helped launch the career of Selena Gomez (the “New 2 Tats” personal favorite) as Alex Russo.  However, it also was the first major television role for actress Jennifer Stone, who portrayed Harper Finkle, the best friend of Selena’s Alex.

Wizardly BFFs

At a mere 10 years old, Jennifer kicked off her acting career in 2003, in the film “Secondhand Lions”.  There are few better actors to learn from than her co-stars, Robert Duvall and Michael Caine.  Her performance got good notices, and she received a Young Artist Award Nomination’

JenStone_Pic03After making her major film debut, Jennifer began developing her resume on the small screen.  In 2005, she had a guest role in an episode of “House”, where she played an obese young girl whose cardiac arrest and chronic weight issues challenge Dr. House and his team to determine the real cause of her suffering.  This dramatic performance earned Jennifer another Young Artist Award nomination.

jenstone_pic06Other guest roles Jennifer’s included spots on the shows “Without a Trace” and “Phineas and Ferb”.  2007 saw her first lead television role on “Wizards of Waverly Place”.  “Wizards….” earned Jennifer yet another Young Artist Award nomination, as well as one for the Nickelodeon Kid’s Choice Awards.

jenstone_pic02While Jennifer worked on “Wizards…” for five seasons, she also continued to dabble in film projects.  She was one of the voices in the Disney Chanel Original Movie “Dadnapped”.  She also was the main character in “Harriet the Spy: Blog Wars”.  She also starred in the ABC Family film, “Mean Girls 2”, as Abby Hanover (in a role similar to Lizzy Caplan’s Janis Ian, in the original theatrical release).

jenstone_pic04More recently, Jennifer has been in the Disney Chanel Original Film “The Wizards Return:  Alex vs. Alex” a movie that followed the events of the television show.  She is also starring in shows like “Deadtime Stories” and “Body of Proof”.  She also has a film titled “High School Exorcism” (alongside Janel Parrish) coming down the pipeline.

JenStone_Pic01At a recent red carpet even, Jennifer showed off her first tattoo.  It is a quote on her upper back of the bible verse Ecclesiastes 3:1, which reads “For everything there is a season, and a time for every purpose under heaven”.
